Jesus in the World Today: Poetry and Prose about for Twenty First Century

"Who do you say I am?" Jesus asked two thousand years ago. How would people answer that question today? What does it mean to encounter Jesus in the twenty-first century? In this time of social media, gender fluidity, electric cars, climate crisis, economic disparity, colonialism, and white supremacy, not to mention the threat of nuclear warfare and a global poverty rate of 10 percent, how can the teachings of a first-century itinerant carpenter and preacher, who talked about people loving their enemies, turning the other cheek, and taking care of the poor, have any meaning or influence?Written for Christians seeking a contemporary vision of Jesus, this collection of poems and personal essays will challenge, provoke, and inspire readers to consider how Jesus and his teachings are even more relevant--and necessary--in the world today.
