The origin of this "spirit" comes from Revelation 2:19-29. The question is, however, does such a spirit really exist? By looking at all the biblical evidence that has been given for the existence of such a spirit/demon, and also extra-biblical evidence that is used to support the existence of such a spirit, Uyl asks the question of whether this spirit is real or not. If such a spirit is in fact real, the question needs to be asked, what effect has this "Jezebel" spirit had on evangelical Christianity, as well as other groups of Christians as a whole? Is this "Jezebel" spirit really what it appears to be?
