Collection of early John Wayne westerns. In 'Riders of Destiny' (1933), singin' Sandy Saunders (John Wayne) is the most notorious gunman since Billy the Kid. Riding into town he finds the local ranchers being victimised by the land-grabbing villain who controls the water supply and wants their land. What can a notorious gunman do but get involved? In 'West of the Divide' (1934), Ted Hayden (Wayne) has to imitate a criminal to become a member of Gentry's (Lloyd Whitlock) gang. He discovers that Gentry was the man who killed his father and vows revenge. In 'Sagebrush Trail' (1933), wrongly imprisoned on a murder charge, John Brant (Wayne) escapes from his cell and joins a bunch of desperadoes in an attempt to find the true murderer. But a member of the gang is jealous of Brant's interest in a girl and is suspicious that he might be a traitor. In 'Blue Steel' (1934), a town is held to ransom by a band of outlaws when gold is discovered. In 'Paradise Canyon' (1935), the Duke stars as an undercover government agent who is assigned to a case to thwart a gang of counterfeiters. In 'Desert Trail (1935), rodeo star John Scott (Wayne) and his friend are falsely accused of murder and forced to go on the run to clear their names. In 'Texas Terror' (1935), Sheriff John Higgins (Wayne) follows three men responsible for a hold-up at Wells Fargo to the ranch of his oldest friend, Dan Matthews (Frank Ball). When Matthews is killed by the outlaws, Higgins mistakenly believes himself to be responsible, and quits his job as sheriff. In 'Dawn Rider' (1935), John Mason (Wayne) falls for the sister of the man who killed his father. Finally, in 'The Trail Beyond' (1934), Wayne stars as a tough cowboy who takes on a villainous gang after they kidnap a young girl and take control of a gold mine.
