Joseph, Guardian of the Redeemer

Joseph, Guardian of the Redeemer is a dramatic one-man cantata that tells the story of Saint Joseph through spoken narration and original songs. Joseph looks back on his life as a carpenter, husband of Mary, and earthly father entrusted with the care of Jesus, recalling moments of uncertainty, courage, obedience, exile, family life, and faith. The work follows Joseph from his acceptance of Mary and the journey to Bethlehem through the flight into Egypt, the hidden years in Nazareth, and the finding of Jesus in the Temple. Written for one male performer speaking from Joseph's memory, the cantata combines theatrical storytelling with sacred music and can be presented in churches, concerts, retreats, devotional programs, and celebrations honoring Saint Joseph. It serves as a companion work to Mary, Full of Grace and presents Joseph not as a distant biblical figure, but as a quiet man who trusted God even when he could not see where the road would lead.
