Katie and the Medicine Trail: A Zombie Western

Eleven-year-old Katie Hollis never expected to save a town. When a deadly fever strikes the isolated settlement of Mercy Gap, Katie must saddle her small brown pony, Juniper, and embark on a desperate forty-mile, two-day journey to deliver life-saving medicine. The wilderness trail is dangerously crowded. The ruthless Crowe gang has driven a massive herd of stumbling zombies toward Katie's fortified home of Pine Ridge, keeping her sheriff father and the town's defenders trapped. Armed only with an oversized revolver and carrying a wooden medicine case strapped tightly to her back, Katie faces a relentless undead horde and a treacherous thirteen-year-old outlaw named Silas Crowe. Forced into a terrifying standoff and a desperate escape through the collapsing, pitch-black tunnels of Crow's Head Mine, Katie discovers that true courage is not the absence of fear-it is doing what is right even when you are terrified.
