Based on a true story, Kenny’s Bright Red Scooter shares the story of a senior citizen veteran who receives unexpected kindness after his mobility scooter breaks down. With the help of his neighbors (and the world via social media), he becomes determined to pay it forward. Kenny came from humble beginnings, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy, but, as he aged, his health continued to decline. He eventually needed a mobility scooter to get around for his favorite thing: spending quality time with people. When Kenny met his neighbors, two of them deaf, they instantly connected and formed a lifelong friendship—deeming themselves “The Crew.” One sad morning, Kenny discovered his mobility scooter was broken beyond repair, preventing him from venturing out. With some love and help from The Crew (and TikTok), an unexpected turn of events completely changed his life! A few simple acts of kindness altered the course of his story, and with that, Kenny and The Crew were determined to pay it forward—in everyday simple ways, as well as extravagant gestures—to change the lives of others.
