In the years of the Black Plague when law and order break down, two people come together in search of hope in a landscape of devastation. After losing her whole family to the Black Plague and fleeing her home, Collette turns to brigandry on the roads in order to survive. Matieu is a returned soldier from the Hundred Years' War. He and his comrades turn to brigandry for sport and profit.
