Bol High above the world, where the clouds grow thin and the wind hums old songs, a hundred islands float in the sky. And on those islands live the Knotlings. Every Knotling can fly. Every Knotling except Knotty. He has shorter arms, shorter legs, and pockets full of string. He doesn't mind. Much. He has buttons to sort, knots to tie and untie, and a long orange scarf that flaps in the wind. Then the wind changes. The islands drift apart, the storm makes flying dangerous, and one by one the Knotlings fold their wings and stay home. While everyone waits for the weather to turn, Knotty looks at the empty space between the islands, and then at his own two hands. A warm, hand-painted picture book about finding your own way to reach the people you love, and about the quiet truth that some connections are stronger than wings.
