Guided by a self-help book, Laura and Julián--a pair of inexperienced bank robbers--entrench themselves in the vault along with approximately 46 hostages. Commissioner Manzaneda takes charge of the negotiations. At first glance, reaching an agreement appears to be a quick and easy task; however, the situation gradually becomes more complicated in the most unexpected ways. Although Fernando Lalana admits that this amusing, musical comedy was conceived as "theater to be read (aloud)," the text is accompanied by an introductory guide offering various suggestions on how to make the most of it in the classroom. And as a fitting finale, the book includes a compendium of reflections, commentary, and theatrical anecdotes--intended, it is hoped, to sow the seeds of interest in the dramatic arts within the hearts of young readers.
