The sudden extinction of all animals on Earth has split society in two: the Celestials, who enjoy every luxury and comfort, and the Domestics, inferior beings forbidden from touching or even looking at the Celestials. Eva Salazar, daughter of the Minister of Food, appears to live a perfect life--at least that's what the media believes when her upcoming wedding becomes a national event. What the public doesn't know is that the marriage is politically arranged, with a man she does not love, and that the Domestic who raised her is about to be exiled beyond the Wall because of her. It is then that Eva realizes that fighting the government of the Republic of Heden is the only way to bring justice to an oppressed and segregated society. And only the Liberation Front can show her that, in a world where animals no longer exist, there is still room for hope.
