labour migration of refugees: A case study to support the IQ Network in market integration

Following the introduction and the definition of the most relevant academic terms, the first part of this thesis examines the legal foundations of the subject. It begins by explaining the legal basis of asylum law and outlining the asylum procedure in Germany, before distinguishing between the various legal statuses of refugees. Furthermore, access to the labour market for refugees is examined before the recognition of foreign professional qualifications is addressed. The subsequent chapter of the thesis deals specifically with the German labour market, examining its development and current status. To support this, various statistics are drawn upon in this context and analysed in relation to the integration of refugees into the German labour market. The case study analysis of the expert interview conducted with the Recognition and Qualification Advisory Service of the IQ Network in Cuxhaven forms the basis of the qualitative research process.
