Bol Partner This late offering from Renoir is a bitter-sweet comedy based on a novel by Jacques Perret. Set in a prisoner-of-war camp during the second world war, "The Vanishing Corporal" can be seen as a sister-film to Renoir's "La Grande Illusion".
