The love story between an actress and a frontline soldier in the Vosges during World War I. Blanche Baulieu, a beauty from the Paris suburbs, has been performing in the capital's theatres since the beginning of the war and dreams of becoming a great actress. But times are hard and she struggles to make her mark, so when she's asked to join a company to entertain the troops she doesn't hesitate. Blanche arrives on the Vosges front in 1917 with a group of actors from Paris led by Sarah Bernhardt. Their objective is to raise morale among the troops and contribute to their country's victory.
