Leah & Olly Get Ready for Halloween: A Witch's Checklist

Halloween is only a few days away and Leah the witch has a lot to do. Being a witch does not mean everything happens by magic. Some things, like getting ready for a favorite holiday, still take a little planning. So Leah does what any organized witch would do: she makes a list. Find a costume. Decorate the house. Carve a pumpkin. Three simple tasks, checked off one at a time.Of course, nothing about getting ready is ever quite that simple, especially with Olly, her mischievous black cat, close by. Olly has her own ideas about ribbons, cobwebs and the perfect moment to knock over a lantern. Every task on Leah's list turns into its own small adventure, full of gentle humor and cozy chaos that will feel instantly familiar to any family who has ever tried to get ready for a big day with a curious pet underfoot.Leah & Olly Get Ready for Halloween: A Witch's Checklist follows one small witch and her cat through the joyful, sometimes messy process of preparing for a favorite night of the year. From trying on the wrong costume, to searching a sunny patch for the perfect pumpkin, to the quiet magic of candlelight glowing from a freshly carved jack-o'-lantern, the story moves at a warm, unhurried pace that mirrors the anticipation kids feel in the days leading up to Halloween. The book builds gently toward one final magical surprise. Written in warm, rhythmic, read-aloud verse and paired with soft, painterly illustrations in a rich autumn palette, this book is designed for repeat reading and cozy October evenings.
