Legal analysis of the obstacles to land management in Congo: What measures are place prevent disputes Bukavu?

There are numerous problems with land administration in the city of Bukavu that require genuine solutions to prevent land disputes; however, this book will shed light on the main issues, namely: the lack of understanding of Congolese land law among certain land administrators, disregard for the laws of the Republic, the lack of an expansion policy, the failure to respect and the privatisation of state-owned land, the politicisation of land administration, impunity, clientelism, influence peddling, corruption, interference by incompetent authorities in land allocation, greed, abuse of power, etc. This book recounts the history of Bukavu's development from a post and then a district in Orientale Province, through to its establishment as the capital of South Kivu Province. Given the population growth, coupled with the rural exodus caused by the well-documented wars and rebellions, Bukavu would require an expansion policy that would allow the city to extend from Kavumu to Kamanyola and from Lake Kivu to Mugogo by 2050. Fair justice is required to ensure land peace in Bukavu.
