Mary Valentich, PhD is a Professor Emerita, Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary where she has taught since 1976. In her 60 year career, she has been a clinical social worker, educator, author, advocate, certified sex educator and therapist, private practitioner and community activist. Topics of particular interest have been human sexuality, women's issues, feminist practice, career management, and assisted dying. She is a founding member of sexual assault centres in Ottawa and Calgary, a Calgary out-of-school program, Calgary Climate Action Network (CCAN), and Calgary Social Workers for Social Justice.
