Bol Children with hearing loss are fitted with hearing aids or cochlear implants to improve the ease and extent to which they can access and acquire spoken language. The test of Lexical comprehension in Telugu consisted of 4 levels to assess a child's comprehension of individual words, simple word combinations, and situations where understanding of functional words is essential. It also assessed grammatical morphemes and elaborated phrases and sentence structures. Results indicated that lexical comprehension abilities for children using bimodal devices and unilateral cochlear implants show significant improvements in lexical development but seem to have difficulty with grammatical abilities. It can be concluded that children who receive an implant early, followed by a period of appropriate rehabilitation, achieve comprehension skills that exceed levels observed in children with hearing aids.children using cochlear implants like typical hearing children achieved relatively predictable pattern of language growth with simultaneous developments in vocabulary, grammar and syntactic constructions as their auditory skills surpass those of their non-implanted peers.
