Post-WWII soldiers began to fill major city airports. With a duffel bag over one shoulder, they greeted their joyous family and friends. They were home...at last, ready to start their lives once again, Some soldiers carried a hidden duffel bag home with them as well. Once this bag opened, however, an insidious poison spewed out from the bag and into the hearts, minds, and souls of these innocent men. Lyla resided with her parents, Paul and Kathy Bryant, in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. Like other post-WWII families of the 1950's, they appeared to live the ideal family life. Her father was one of the poor souls who brought the second duffel bag home with him. This invasive intruder did not mix well with Paul's preexisting anger issues. Whenever the two would collide, the ramifications were deep and dark for his daughter, Lyla. Little Girl Blue is the life story of Lyla Bryant. Though fictional, the story includes elements based upon real-life experiences. In addition to her daily struggles, she also contended with an undiagnosed health condition that remained elusive to understanding, a condition no one knew anything about then. Would her life of insanity ever leave her? Would she find the key to unlock the answers she desperately longed for and needed?
