Living in Constantine's Protected Area: What are the requirements?

The current state of Constantine's historic center, which bears witness to the deep-rooted local culture, is in a state of permanent deterioration, while the residential aspect of the safeguarded sector is tending to disappear to make way for "shops", leaving the way clear for dominant economic functions. The immense changes to the built environment are encouraging the destruction of the architectural and urban heritage of the old town.Our overriding objective remains the preservation and safeguarding of Constantine's urban heritage, and we need to identify the methods and actions required to achieve this.Based on our analysis of the historic center and foreign examples of heritage preservation strategies, we now turn to our proposal, which is founded on the lever of occupying and giving heritage a role in society, in order to safeguard it. The hypothetical answer to safeguarding Constantine's protected area lies in occupying this heritage, integrating it into social life as an essential lever.Residential space (housing and its extensions) must be provided with "comfort".
