In dentistry nowadays, researchers try to find and develop new ways in which pain can be reduced and managed better to ensure patient comfort by focusing on improving aspects such as anesthetic agents, delivery devices and the techniques involved. The introduction of newer techniques aid dentists in providing enhanced pain relief with reduced pain from injection and fewer adverse reactions. Pain management is a crucial concern for most practicing dentists and poses a problem for pediatric patients as well. A pediatric dentist bears the responsibility of instilling a positive dental attitude among children and these newer techniques, when used with the traditional method of anesthesia, prove to be quite helpful in meeting the objective of pain control during dental procedures.
