London to Sydney Across Land and Sea: A life adventure spanning three continents in the 1960s '70s

LIFE'S TRAVELS OVERSEAS through EUROPE and BACK HOMEIn the winter of 1968, I joined my twin sister and her husband in London during the rock-and-roll era. It was there that we attended a Car Rally departing London overland for Sydney, which inspired us to plan our own journey back home to Sydney.In our first summer of 1969, we enjoyed a carefree life in two cars, travelling extensively across Europe for three months and meeting like-minded people.To fund our adventures, we worked diligently through the winters. Every spare minute was spent researching our trip back to Sydney. We purchased and refurbished a second-hand van that would be our home for the next five months.During the summer of 1970, six of us set off across contrasting landscapes, from the rugged terrain and desert of the Middle East to the colourful Indian cities. Sailing across the sea to Malaysia, driving down to Singapore, and eventually setting sail for Fremantle, Western Australia. The last leg of our journey saw us travelling the unsealed Nullarbor Plain before finally arriving in Sydney.On this remarkable journey, we faced challenges that drew us closer together, creating memories that remain vivid and unforgettable to this day.
