Friedrich Bauer and Vytilia Quintia have been reunited. The are both overjoyed, and cautious of reuniting after so long apart. Still dedicated to her mission, and wanting to return to her people, Vytilia still seeks Friedrich's help. But Friedrich has been sworn to escort a wayfareage in an act of penitence. Vytilia enthusiastically agrees to join, hoping to discover some truth and connection between the Strixans and mankind. They join the wayfareage to the holy land of Midgart, passing through lands blighted by both war and time. Land where the scars of religious schism still wound, lands wary of strangers and the supernatural. They do not know who is a friend, and who is a foe. All the while, an even greater foe, and a great evil, plots underground. On their travels they will come to learn; Man is a Wolf to Man.
