Lost Voices?: Personal Musings of an EVP Enthusiast

Electronic Voice Phenomenon is the unwitting manifestation of anomalous sounds on to audio recording equipment. Nothing is heard at the time, only upon playback. This is because the sounds, often human voices (discernible or otherwise) are of frequencies that are undetectable by the human ear in the moment. The incredible thing is not only that these sounds and voices exist in the first place, but what they say, the circumstances of recording, and what this means in the grand scheme of things. This book follows the author's research-based adventures in England, France, Germany and Greece, recording electronic voice phenomena successfully in a broad variety of locations. These include prisons, WWII sites including tunnels and bunkers, forts, stately homes, modern homes, churches, houses, and subterranean mines, to name just a few. It all began in the dusty tunnels of Fort Amherst in Kent, then migrated further afield to become more than just a hobby - the addiction began to set in.Since the author first began to dabble, findings have flooded in and the catalogue of individual EVP captures continues to grow into the thousands. Subsequent analysis of these findings are where the work truly begins, where the data can be objectively viewed, when theories can begin to be formed as logically as possible, and questions can be asked. The recollections within this book dive into the mysterious world of EVP, in which the author recalls experiences within the grounded field of investigation that defy belief, and yet genuinely happened. 'The voices', what they say (and the experiences that went hand-in-hand with investigations along the way such as living with poltergeist phenomena for a number of years), have utterly altered the author's perception of what is and is not possible. The human-centric notion of what 'reality' may actually be, is put into a metaphorical blender and switched on full. Sceptics will remain sceptical of course, but until anyone personally experiences such phenomena first hand, they simply cannot understand the feeling of being on the receiving end of it, or appreciate how life-changing it is.Remember, 'paranormal' simply means something that is beyond the explanation of physics, and the origin of the sounds and voices is unknown. They are disembodied, discarnate, and often intelligent in nature; there is no reason for their being that us humans can see. They are beyond the grasp of logic, and yet they exist. They are not stray radio waves, not mistaken identity, not imprinted thoughts or the employment of the false vocal cords - and audio pareidolia can be combatted with easy measures by the discerning investigator. Studying this phenomenon is a tremendous game-changer.
