In 1910 Austin, rising attorney Henry "Hank" Carlson and his gifted wife, Lottie, are building a life filled with music and promise. Lottie's newest piano composition is nearly complete when a single gunshot on a winter morning shatters everything. The case stalls. The city moves on. Hank never does.Eighteen years later, inside the storied Driskill Hotel, Hank attends a recital by a thirteen-year-old piano virtuoso from San Antonio. When the girl performs a waltz Hank knows by heart-one never published, never shared, never heard beyond their small rented room-his past comes rushing back.As the young musician begins to reveal fragments of a melody that should not exist, old alliances fracture and long-buried secrets stir. What begins as coincidence grows into something far more unsettling.Set against the elegance of The Driskill and the restless streets of Austin, Lottie's Waltz is a haunting story of love, betrayal, justice, and the mysterious power of music to carry truth across time.
