Denny Shields, the 5-year-old boy we met in book one, is now a man of 30. Batresh joins him at 1988 to go on a tour of Europe. With her DNA changed (Batresh has red hair and freckles) Denny does not recognize her from 1962 or 1977. Denny begins the spiritual journey that will transform him into the woman who will save humanity at 2032. While on tour at Krakow, Poland, Batresh encounters pure evil and begins to accept the need for the missions. At Palermo, a group of Potacas hybrids, masquerading as priests battle a group of Jesuits and nuns for Denny's future. All this occurs at Earth while the Dusmanyu ravage systems at the Perseus Transit. Namazu and Amun are drawn into a transit wide war. Batresh goes back to the past to recuperate but is diverted to Alexandria, Egypt at 1 CE.
