Love Your Neighbor as Yourself: Daily Scripture Reflections

The LORD commanded, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Leviticus 19:18). In the Gospels, Jesus reiterated this message as captured by the evangelists in the recording of the Two Greatest Commandments (Matthew 22:34-40; Mark 12:28-34; Luke 10:25-28). From Genesis to Revelation, the Sacred page repeatedly exhorts this theme. It is an ethos of Christianity...it is core to our faith...it is how we are called to live. In the first couple of centuries of Christianity, this communal love of each other differentiated the faith in a pagan world. This was not only unique and alien to the world, but it was also the hallmark of our faith. It is still. We will always be called to this central ethos. This daily Scripture Reflections work is unlike any other; completely dedicated to the love of our neighbors. In our daily immersion in the Word of God, specifically oriented on love of neighbor, may we grow closer to each other and, by extension, closer to Him in the process. Each month begins with a long passage, and there is a page for each of the 365 days of the year, drawing from all genres of the entire Holy Bible. On each page, a selected passage is provided, oriented on the love of our neighbor. There is also a quote from one of over eighty Church Fathers, saints, Church historians, or theologians on each page, which directly relates to the passage at hand. At the bottom, associated and related Bible verses are provided.
