Lu Xun's Self-Annotated Collection: Old Tales Retold/鲁迅自评版作品集：故事新&

Lu Xun's Self-Annotated Collection: Old Tales Retold presents Lu Xun's original works alongside his own annotations and self-reflections. This unique format offers readers a rare window into the writer's inner world, revealing his intellect, character, aesthetics, and philosophy - the private dimensions that shaped his public voice. It is an intimate self-portrait that deepens our understanding of the man and his work. The collection gathers eight short stories written between 1922 and 1935 - Mending the Heavens, Flight to the Moon, Taming the Floods, Gathering Vetch, Casting the Sword, Leaving the Pass, Against Aggression, and Resurrection - along with a preface. Drawing on ancient Chinese myths, legends, and historical records, Lu Xun reimagines these age-old tales with wit, imagination, and a boldly subversive touch. The result is a collection that is not only historically significant - often hailed as the pioneering work of modern Chinese historical fiction - but also remarkably entertaining. The stories are told with a lightness, humor, and playful irreverence that set them apart from everything else Lu Xun ever wrote.¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿1922¿-1935¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿8¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿"¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿"¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿Lu Xun, born Zhou Shuren in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, is the founding father of modern Chinese literature and has been hailed as the "multifaceted cultural giant of the 20th century."Liu Zengren is the Director of the Lu Xun Research Center at Qingdao University (the first of its kind in China), Vice President of the Modern and Contemporary Branch of the Chinese Academic Association of Historical Literature, and Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook of Lu Xun Studies.
