Lu Xun's Self-Annotated Collection: Second Collection of Essays from the Pavilion "Qie Jie"/鲁迅自评版作品

Lu Xun's Self-Annotated Collection: Second Collection of Essays from the Pavilion of "Qie Jie" brings together Lu Xun's essays from 1935, including such notable pieces as Celebrities and Famous Sayings, On the Subject of Writing Brushes, Random Talks on Essays, and Confucius in Modern China. Written in the final years of his life, these essays offer some of his most mature and penetrating reflections - on society, on culture, on education, and on the state of the nation. With his signature sharpness and unflinching honesty, Lu Xun exposes contradictions, challenges conventions, and speaks truth to power. What makes this edition truly exceptional is the inclusion of Lu Xun's own annotations and self-reflections. Here, the writer steps back to comment on his own work, revealing his intellect, his character, his aesthetics, and his worldview. This is Lu Xun's own "view of Lu Xun" - an intimate self-portrait that deepens our understanding of his inner life and creative drive, and brings us closer to both the man and his words.¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿1935¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿"¿¿¿"¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿Lu Xun, born Zhou Shuren in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, is the founding father of modern Chinese literature and has been hailed as the "multifaceted cultural giant of the 20th century."Liu Zengren is the Director of the Lu Xun Research Center at Qingdao University (the first of its kind in China), Vice President of the Modern and Contemporary Branch of the Chinese Academic Association of Historical Literature, and Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook of Lu Xun Studies.
