Maaa, I Gon' To Jab Jab!!This is what inspired the book: My second mom comes from the landof Jab Jab, next to the great land of Jab Jab. My grandmother, Sheila, was a hairdresser and a cook. She made her own products, worked ata nightclub, and loved her life. I come from my wire-bendinggrandfather, who loved the culture and was the first to have a DJ playmusic on a truck in a masquerade band. I come from a mother namedCheryl; she loves history, volunteered at the American Red Cross, andloved to cook. She could whine like a whining spinner, sewed costumes, had her own band, and dreamed big like no one else. I also come from afather who has work ethics through the roof; he was Mr. Clean, and mayhe live long, long, long. I come from a stepmother who pushed througheverything that tried to hold her back. She is tenacious; she lives, andshe surely lives her life.I I write this children's book to give history to all those who want to keepthe legacy going. Raising my voice, I share my journey of migrating toAmerica, serving the country that gave me the freedom to be who I wantto be, and being the first American generation children. I shall pass downmy heritage and my roots. Maaa, I Gon' To Jab Jab!!
