May 1981 and the Blues are off to Wembley to play Spurs in the Centenary Cup Final. Eighteen years old, Michael Taylor is going too, accompanied by granddad Dougie and his colourful pals. The season had been heading for disaster but Big Mal was gone, John Bond arrived and the club's fortunes were transformed.For Michael, a studious lad from the middle-class suburbs, university beckons. Yet through Dougie he is introduced to the working-class world of the Brunswick Estate and witnesses the destructive impact of the onset of Thatcherism.
