Mango Samba

Kate Carrington is at a crossroads. A pediatric nurse living unhappily with her husband in Baltimore, she has a choice to make between staying put and moving on. She's hanging in a delicate balance when what's meant to be a holiday in the Caribbean becomes her turning point. When she meets Breed, a local fisherman, a spark ignites that makes Kate realize she has to start over. She falls in love with him and, along the way, comes into her own. The island is vibrant and alive with colorful fauna, a thriving community, and a day-to-day that Kate doesn't dread. She can breathe again-perhaps for the first time in her life. But when rumblings about a revolution turn into a stark reality, Kate and Breed find their peace shattered. An uprising by the people's army. An invasion by the United States. A seismic shift in the island's politics that will forever impact who they are, as they step up to face the change and their role in it.Living through historic events may not have been part of Kate's plan, but when she chose to embrace everything life can offer, she had to be ready for the unexpected too. And the revolution is only the beginning...
