The planet is undergoing a climate transition because, on a global scale, the climate is prone to both persistent changes and the regular occurrence of extreme meteorological and climatic events. This book not only details the distribution of seasonal rainfall in Kribi and on the southern Cameroonian plateau, but also catalogs the major climatic and meteorological events that cause both minor and major climate-related disasters, and outlines their impacts. Thus, extreme weather events kill people, drive them into poverty, cause famine, increase the number of climate-related victims and the homeless, destroy bridges and roads, reduce agricultural and livestock production, and lower GDP. Therefore, the current climate is a complex triad consisting of an interconnection of physical, atmospheric, and societal factors.
