Masters and Servants on the Cape Eastern Frontier, 1760 1803

This book is about the conquest and reduction to servitude of the Khoisan in the eastern Cape in the period up to 1799. It sheds light on the history of the South African interior during the late eighteenth century. Susan Newton-King describes the tense and volatile relationship between European settlers and the indigenous Khoisan peoples.
