Bol Huang Gongwang, Wang Meng, Ni Zan, and Wu Zhen are collectively known as the "Four Masters of the Late Yuan Dynasty." They achieved outstanding excellence and held exceptionally high status in landscape painting, and played a particularly significant role in the development of landscape painting in early modern China. Although these four figures differed in age, they all lived in the same era during the thirty-odd years from the first year of the Taiding era (1324) to around the eighteenth year of the Zhizheng era (1358). Despite their differing life circumstances, there was much common ground in their artistic philosophies. Evaluating the artistic achievements and cultural contributions of the "Four Masters of the Yuan Dynasty" requires situating them within the broader context of Song and Yuan painting development, and conducting analysis and critique in light of the social and historical conditions of their time, as well as the evolution of painting trends and aesthetic sensibilities.¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿"¿¿¿¿"¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿1324¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿1358¿¿¿¿30¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿"¿¿¿"¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿Shou Qinze, who writes under the pen name Lin Ze, was born in September 1962 at the foot of Liufeng Mountain in Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province.
