Me and Facebook Me: Identity profile on social networks

It's a normal day and it starts as usual. The alarm clock rings, I slowly wake up, realize that a new morning is beginning, and of course I have to catch up on the latest news right away. News, yes, world events, yes, but it's not political, religious, or cultural events that interest me most, but social events first and foremost! I'm not even out of bed yet, and my Facebook account is already being updated. Why? I hope I can answer that question for you at the end of this paper. Am I looking for validation, and if so, for what? Am I looking for recognition, and if so, for what achievement? Am I looking for social contacts, and if so, why am I looking for them online first and not offline? Don't I get this attention in my immediate environment from my real and physically present family and friends? Am I more valuable on Facebook, or am I ME on Facebook?
