Meaning-Making and Management

The central focus of this discussion is the role of meaning in our social lives. Organizations on the one hand, their members on the other, and the mechanisms of interaction between the two are the essential elements for the creation of reality. Bottom-up management is a process of social construction unique to the workplace. It organizes the questions, answers, suggestions, and visions for the future of all employees through co-creation. Bottom-up management constitutes an organizational routine that fosters adaptation, change management, and innovation. It thus enables the organization to enhance its economic efficiency through social efficiency that provides meaning for its members. This dual effectiveness is illustrated and validated by the results of a company operated according to the principles of this management approach.
