Melbourne Was Supposed to Be Different

Jasmine left Bali believing distance would make things easier.A new city. A new job. A quieter life.Melbourne was supposed to be the place where she could finally begin again without carrying the past into every room. And for a while, it works. She finds routine in rainy mornings, office lunches, late tram rides, and the slow comfort of becoming someone new. Life begins to feel steadier. Softer. Almost safe. But healing is rarely that simple.Just when Jasmine starts believing she has moved forward, something from her past returns in the most unexpected way: familiar, unfinished, and impossible to ignore. As old emotions resurface and new connections begin to matter, Jasmine is forced to confront the question she has been avoiding all along: Can love feel real without asking her to disappear inside it?Melbourne Was Supposed to Be Different is a tender, emotionally layered story about second chances, healing, distance, and learning how to love without losing yourself.
