Melchizedek: Discovering the Eternal Priesthood of Christ: Priest-King Most High God

Melchizedek appears in only a few verses of Genesis, yet his priesthood becomes one of the most important keys to understanding Jesus Christ in the book of Hebrews.Who was this mysterious king of Salem? Why did Abraham give him a tenth? What does it mean that he was priest of God Most High? Why does Psalm 110 declare that the coming Messiah would be "a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek"? And what does Hebrews mean when it describes him without a recorded father, mother, genealogy, beginning, or end?Melchizedek: The Priest-King of the Most High God follows the biblical evidence from Genesis 14 through Psalm 110 and Hebrews 5-7. Rather than beginning with speculation, this study carefully distinguishes what Scripture says, what can reasonably be inferred, and what later interpreters have proposed.Inside you will explore Melchizedek's name and titles, Salem, God Most High, bread and wine, Abraham's blessing and tenth, the meaning of the order of Melchizedek, the major views of his identity, Hebrew and Greek word studies with Strong's numbers, and the contrast between the Aaronic priesthood and the eternal priesthood of Christ. This book is designed to answer one central question clearly: Who was Melchizedek, and why did God use this mysterious priest-king to reveal the eternal priesthood of Jesus Christ?
