Memories of the MKSS: An Anthology : ¿¿. ¿¿ ¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿ 1990 - 2020

1 May 2020 was the first May Day that we all were isolated and locked in, unable to walk or travel to Patiya ka Chowda, Bhim for the Mela as per Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sanghatan (MKSS) tradition. The Mazdoor Mela has been a very important occasion for the MKSS and over the years has gained the popularity of a local festival. For the people in the four districts around Bhim, the May Mela is an expression of solidarity, of having fun, renewing old acquaintances and friendships, buying inexpensive clothes, toys, food stuff and a varied set of ever-changing goods brought in by new sets of people. Not to mention the attraction of chuski, raab, nimboo soda, pakoda, jalebi, and kulfi. In 2020, we stubbornly refuse to let the spirit of May Day be overwhelmed by the COVID-19 epidemic. We decided that we would communicate with each other through the written word, songs and lyrics. The idea of this anthology was born from this determination.This anthology has grown with every contribution, in recalling incidents, imagination, humour, and in building a feeling of hope.¿¿¿¿¿-¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿ ¿¿¿¿,¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿!The MKSS Family
