MENKHEPERRE The Manifestation of Ra: Ra

Here's a back-cover style description for your book: MENKHEPERRE: THE MANIFESTATION OF RA A Novel of Thutmose III by Mohamed FarragBefore he was a king, he was a wound.Passed over for the throne his blood entitled him to, sent from the palace to grow up among soldiers, Menkheperre spends his boyhood learning the one lesson his stepmother Hatshepsut's twenty-two-year reign never meant to teach him: patience wrapped tight around a fire that will not go out. While she rules Egypt from behind a king's false beard, he rises through the ranks of her own army - becoming, without her ever quite intending it, one of the deadliest commanders the Two Lands has produced. When she dies, his reckoning begins. He scours her name from the temple walls of Karnak. He turns twenty years of grief into an empire. And when a hundred rebel cities gather behind the walls of Megiddo to test whether the new pharaoh's grip is as sure as hers, he leads his army through a mountain pass so narrow no sane commander would dare it - because he has learned, at last, exactly what it costs a man to wait. But Menkheperre carries something into that war his own bitter beginning never promised he would find: a code of mercy as fierce as his ambition. Every soldier under his command is bound by his order - cut down the men who raise their weapons against Egypt, and no others. No woman. No child. No elder. Not even a single tree.Spanning three generations - from Ahmose's war against the Hyksos, through Thutmose I's conquest of an empire, to the fire and reckoning of Thutmose III's own reign - Menkheperre is a story of inheritance and vengeance, of a boy who hated the woman who took his throne, and the king he became when he finally had to decide what kind of ruler that hatred would let him be.A dynasty's wound. An empire's reckoning. A king's mercy.
