Merrick And The Archive Of Living Memories

Some things are taken so gently you never feel the taking.Merrick Caul has grown up in the Caul Travelling Circus, and every Friday night he stands in the ring and gives audiences back the memories they had forgotten: the smell of a grandmother's kitchen, the warmth of a voice that used to make everything feel safe, the texture of an ordinary morning that mattered more than anyone realised at the time. He has always thought this was his gift.He is half right. When a girl who sees patterns in everything and a boy who forgets nothing sit in the audience on the same October night, Merrick discovers the other half of the truth: for every memory he returns during the performance, someone behind him is taking it away again. And the someone is the woman who raised him. Who loves him. Who has been afraid of disappearing since she was nine years old and found a way to stay that cost everyone around her the most ordinary, irreplaceable thing: the memory of a Tuesday evening. The Storykeeper Chronicles' most daring book asks the hardest question of all: what do you owe the person who built your world out of what they stole from others?
