Mike McCormack (American Football)

Michael Joseph McCormack (born June 21, 1930) is a former American football player and coach in the National Football League. He played with the Cleveland Browns from 1954-1962 and served as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Baltimore Colts and the Seattle Seahawks. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1984. McCormack was drafted by the New York Yanks in the 1951 NFL Draft. After one year of play, he then served two years of military service in the United States Army before being traded to the Browns. In his first season with the team, he played on the defensive line, with his fumble recovery in the 1954 NFL Championship game against the Detroit Lions helping set up an important early touchdown.
