This book deals with the numerical modeling of an integrated transformer. The transformer comprises two circular coils, primary and secondary, with the same inside and outside diameters, but different numbers of turns. The coils are deposited on an insulating Kapton substrate, itself placed between two ferrite magnetic substrates, separated by a gap. Physical behavior is described by Maxwell's equations for electromagnetism, coupled with the heat equation for heat transfer. The main assumptions are that the buoyancy of the vertical air is negligible, and that the two coils act as internal heat sources. The system of partial differential equations, with boundary conditions, is solved by the finite element method using Comsol 6.0 software. The study determines the geometric parameters of the micro-transformer and integrates the Joule effect to analyze thermal behavior.
