Dementia is a condition that can be described as a decline in mental ability that affects the memory, thinking, and behavior. There are some that suffer from this illness at a young age while others suffer in their dotage. I assure you that there are no books or therapy sessions that can truly prepare you for taking care of a love one suffering from this illness. I had always heard other people who had experienced loved ones that suffered from dementia but I never thought in a million years that I too would experience it. This was an illness that was definitely new to me. I had know idea what to expect. It was only through God's grace and mercy that I was able to endure the entire process.
