Morphine - Cocoon (LP)

Cocoon is a 2026 alternative rock album by Morphine, assembled from archival recordings created during the band’s classic period and completed by surviving members. Its sound is rooted in Morphine’s distinctive fusion of gritty rock, jazz-inflected arrangements, baritone saxophone, and two-string fretless bass. The album carries a raw, atmospheric, and intimate character, preserving the unconventional chemistry that made Morphine a singular presence in the alternative underground. Restored performances and newly added instrumental parts give the material renewed clarity while retaining its late-night mood, sensual tension, and understated dramatic force.
