When three legendary, women masters seek out a man returning from the war with a fractured spirit, they do more than help him heal, they lead him toward his destiny.Maka'ala's journey begins as a crew member on the historic canoe voyage of the Hokule'a, sailing to Tahiti and back, in 1976, a voyage that will start the long journey home for native Hawaiians reclaiming their culture, andheritage.Margaret Machado, Morrnah Simeona, and Iolani Luahine-three highly revered na wahine kahuna (women masters)-will approach Maka'ala, at different periods, during a window of time ripe for his awakening.
