The monsters we've read about as children emerged from their shadows and waged a war; one that we lost. In these dark times, people turn to the Shepherd for help. Aegis is one such Shepherd. She thought her only task was to herd survivors into the safety of human coloies. When she rescues a mysterious man from duwende captivity, she discovered that not only is he the most dangerous thing to have around, but he could be their one hope for redemption. Aegisnow find herself protecting a born killer, but in doing so, she's turning her back on everything human.
