Name The Stakes

In "Name the Stakes", legendary Western author Des Dunn, writing as Sheldon B. Cole, plunges readers into a storm-lashed frontier where the elements are as deadly as the men. Drifting gunman Blake Durant, "The Loner," finds himself battling a torrential downpour and rising floodwaters in a strange land.Seeking shelter from the "slash and venom" of the rain, Durant is pulled into a high-stakes conflict where lives are the ultimate ante. He encounters Martha, a woman who has endured more hardship than anyone deserves, and Grant Egan, a man whose future depends on the choices Durant makes. As the storm rages, Durant must navigate a web of desperate circumstances and determine who is worth betting on in a lawless country.Packed with gritty atmosphere and the quiet intensity of a man searching for a reason to stop drifting, this classic Western proves that in the Wild West, you have to be ready to name the stakes-and pay the price.
