Natya Sangrah

The book titled "N¿t¿ya Sägrah" (Collection of Plays) is a compilation of various plays written by the eminent scholar Pandit Shri Janardan Rai Nagar. Among them, "Acharya Chanakya" and "Uda-Hatyara" are historical plays. "Vaivasvat Manu" is a philosophical and spiritual drama. Set in a prehistoric context, Vaivasvat Manu depicts the horrors of destructive inventions born out of scientific advancement and development. It explores a world dominated by materialistic and pleasure-seeking culture, disconnected from human spirituality.Similarly, the play "Amritam Gamaya" presents philosophical and spiritual contemplation through the portrayal of the great sage Yajnavalkya, guiding readers from darkness to light and ultimately toward immortality and higher truth.The play "Patit Ka Swarg" (The Fallen One's Heaven) deals directly with social issues. It reflects the social conditions of its time and conveys the message of the triumph of truth over falsehood, goodness over evil, and immortality over death. "Agradoot Mahatma Ji" and "Jeevan Ka Satya" (The Truth of Life) are similar in nature and theme.All of these plays, either directly or indirectly, embody the purpose of fostering a sense of duty, responsibility, and deeper insight concerning the nation, society, and the role of women. Through them, readers gain an understanding of the diverse mindsets, attitudes, and social conditions that prevailed among the people and citizens of that era.
