NAVIGATING RESPONSIBILITY: A Strategic Blueprint for Corporate Social Responsibility in the Namibian Fishing Industry

This book explores how the Namibian fishing industry, particularly in Walvis Bay, practices corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its impact on local community development. It examines whether fishing companies actively incorporate CSR into their business operations and how they engage with communities to support their growth. Using a mixed-method approach with surveys and interviews, the study reveals that most CSR efforts focus on social, philanthropic, and ethical goals, but face challenges like limited resources and expertise. Additionally, the community support provided tends to be short-term and unsustainable. The book emphasizes the need for fishing companies to involve communities more fully in CSR planning and execution to ensure meaningful and lasting benefits.
